Preschool Program

Guided Learning: Teachers present learning opportunities with directions and allow students to move through centers and stations learning while using life skills like planning, time management, community-mindedness, respect, and responsibility.

Center Time: Beyond the Classroom interactive learning centers and simulation stations are curated to incorporate art, literacy, math, science, music, and fine/gross motor skills allowing for choice and exploration within the lesson.

Enrichment: Making the most out of the afternoons with month month-long focus for a deeper dive into; foreign language, STEM, creative arts, gross motor & movement, cooking & gardening, reading & writing.

Circle Time and Closing Circle: Our time to come together and engage in activities, discussions, and reflections. This establishes routine and builds. community while working on life skills like transition, patience, empathy, and conversation skills.

Examples of Circle activities…good morning song, calendar, weather, story, activity based on the theme of the week that connects Beyond the Classroom center time learning, goodbye song, musical instruments, and personal sharing.

Snack and Body Break: These are both essential for a child’s brain development. It encourages self-care and independence. Snack time fuels the mind and body while quiet time, allows the developing brain to process everything learned throughout the day. Parents and teachers work together to offer each child appropriate personal activities during body break time.

Free play at Drop-off and Pick-up: Free play allows children to develop creativity and self-expression through personal decision-making. During unstructured free play, teachers continue to make connections by recognizing “teachable moments” to emphasize learning in action. Drop-off and pick-up are the perfect time to check in with teachers for constant communication

Gross Motor Free-play and My Gym: Outdoor activities using large muscle groups promote body awareness, movement, and health. Free-form gross motor playtime for big energy and LOUD voices… while practicing critical thinking on the go and being busy and making good decisions.

Our partnership with My Gym is designed to enhance our students’ gross motor development with guided gross motor time that incorporates following directions and patience with an introduction to sports skills, gymnastics, games, and agility.
